A couple of Ferruginous Ducks.

This species of Diving Ducks is nearly extinct in Germany. This illustration is for a project of the NABU.

good job! how did you do water color with the pencils? which did you do first?

Thank you! At first I used baked watercolour with a brush. When this layer was dry, I added some highlights with my coloured pencils. This was the first time I combined the watercolour and the pencils ;)

It's art like this that's misunderstood...
Much better than a lot of the anime fanart you see crowding dA...
(Not saying that I hate anime, but this stuff needs more attention.)

Anyways, I love your style! The ducks are just awesome! :D

Thank you so much! I agree with you - If you do not choose "most popular" there will be many scribbles and fanart of 12 year old girls... But I should not talk too bad about anime drawings, I did a Hellsing drawing, too :P

Yeah, I don't hate anime either. The style *is* nice, but there's too much of it now, IMO. This is the art I *prefer* to see. :)
